Multi Talented Artist
Kostakithegreek is a multi-talented instrumentalist, an outstanding Saxophonist, Drummer and Singer-Songwriter. He was raised on the classic rock sounds heard on his parent’s record player and later educated as a jazz musician.
Kostaki is a performer who currently wears many musical belts. As a jazz musician, he has performed saxophone or drums with such talents as Brad Turner, Seamus Blake, Kenny Colman, and is a member of music legend Paul Anka’s western Canada touring band. As an electronic music performer, he performs weekly for Vancouver’s top club promoters - “CANTHRILL”. On his sax he has performed with world class DJ’s, like Gene Ferris, DJ SNEAK, Mark Doyle, and multiple Hed Kandi DJ’s. As a Singer-Songwriter, Kostaki has performed on many local stages and has crafted his talents into his own unique style. A handful of his best songs can be heard on his debut CD – “This Is”.
It is important to note that “This Is” features kostakithegreek’s performing talents on each track. He played all the instruments that you hear. Artistry and musicianship has been a priority his whole life. At a time when musicianship and talent is seldom displayed in the music world, one should remember that music always was and always will be an art form. The music that is remembered and considered classic, is music that a person or a group of people took time to develop and create. It is important that the art of music making stay creative and that good artists are respected.
Kostaki acknowledges his musical heritage and realizes that the music he has listened to and studied is what has kept his interest and enthusiasm for music strong. He hopes that his music and each of his performances can in some small way live up to, and help carry the torch for the following musicians/bands:
